Chapter 16 Father? “You are worrying too much, Athy. I am sure Nathan and Justin will take good care

of Ace.” Suzanne assured a restless Athena who had a frown on her face since the time they had left the

house. She let out a sigh after hearing her.

“I am not worried because of that, Suzy.” She said as she continued walking slowly.

They came to shop for things for Athena, Ace and Suzy. Athena and Ace don’t have anything with them

apart from what they were wearing. They definitely need things to live here. Even though Suzy brought

her things from the Shadow Eclipse pack, Nathan doesn’t want her to use any of them. So, he wants her

to shop as well.

But from the time they dragged Athena out of the house, she was wearing a frown. They didn’t know

what Dominic told her yet apart from the fact that she and Ace are going to stay in his house.

How she wanted to stay far away from him! What an irony! “Then what is it, Athena? Do you

really don‘t like us and our pack? Is that why you are so stiff all the time? I know our alpha can be a little

harsh and rude sometimes but he is the most responsible person you will ever meet.” Patricia explained

patiently.

She didn’t want Athena to have hard feelings toward them because she really liked her and wanted to be

friends with her. But it’s going to be really difficult if she and their alpha don’t like each other.

“Calm down, girls. You guys are worrying for completely different reasons. Though it’s true that I don’t

like your alpha but don’t worry, it won’t affect our friendship. Because he is well aware of my dislike

toward him and he owns it. But it’s not the case here.” Athena said with a sigh. 1 “Then what’s the

problem?” Patricia asked with a frown. Athena frowned once again as she thought why she was upset.

“No offence, Patricia but I don’t like your Luna as well.” Athena said with great annoyance as they kept

walking. She heard a scoff which made her look at her left to see that it came from Patricia.

“None taken because that makes two of us one, Athena. Because I share the same feeling as you.”

Patricia said with a roll of her eyes. Dislike toward Stacey was clear in her eyes. Athena raised an

eyebrow at that. “What’s going on? I didn‘t get the chance to meet her personally yet but now I have lost

interest as well. So, if any of you can explain.” Suzanne spoke up with a small frown. She didn’t want to

be the lost one in the conversation.

“It’s our future Luna. Her name is Stacey. We are talking about her. She is the meanest, rudest and the

most unreasonable person ever in this world. Goddess knows what she thinks of herself but she is just a

plain stupid girl to me. Gosh! She irritates me so much! I feel like pulling all her hair out whenever she

tries to order me something thinking she owns me! Stupid!” Patricia scowled as she fumed in frustration.

“Uh, oh! I don’t like her, welcome me to the team.” Suzanne scowled as well.

“But why don’t you like her, Athena? Did she do something to you? Tell me, I will give her a piece of my

mind.” Patricia frowned.

“Don’t worry about that, Patricia. You don’t know Athena. She is not someone people can stomp over.”

Suzanne said with a smirk.

“Interesting. But what’s the problem then?” Patricia asked in confusion. “I am the alpha and the luna’s

new home maid.” Athena spoke up in a blank tone. They both looked at her in shock.

“You are what?!” Patricia and Suzanne exclaimed the same thing at the same time. They had frowns of

displeasure on their faces. “Calm down, girls. It‘s not a big deal. I don‘t mind working but their intention is

totally wrong. They think they can insult me by making me their maid. And that’s what frustrates me. And

to prove their logic, Stacey gave me a list of useless works. I can’t believe her.” Athena huffed in

frustration.

She worked a lot in the shadow eclipse pack but they were never useless like the ones Stacey assigned

them. Maybe it’s because there were too many actual works for them to be

useless. “That bitch! Ugh! I am so irritated! Hope something happens and she doesn’t show up at the

party. And the ritual will be ruined and she will not be our Luna!” Patricia groaned. Suzanne and Athena

looked at each other in confusion before looking back at her. “Party? Ritual? What are you talking

about?” Suzanne asked on behalf of her and Athena.

“Oh, you guys don’t know? One week later Stacey will have her ‘taking up as the Luna’ ceremony. It’s

going to be a big party. It was supposed to be after two weeks but the witch wants it to happen after one

week. But if she misses the ritual, she will have to wait another six months for it. Without the ritual, she

can’t control us completely. She won’t have the effect of Luna’ on us.” Stacey explained, making them

further confused.

“If she is the alpha’s mate, why does she need a ritual to have the power? Doesn’t she get it

automatically?” Suzanne asked with a frown. Athena looked confused as well. Because she remembers

him saying that Stacey is his second chance mate. Then why is the ritual needed to get the power over

the pack? “Well, we don’t know that. I think I heard something about some witch and a curse. I don’t

really know. Dominic wouldn’t tell anyone.” Patricia said with a small shrug of her shoulders.

“That’s weird.” Suzanne commented.

“I know but what’s the most irritating thing is as the beta and gamma lady, we need to dress u p as well

and be beside her all the time.” Patricia scowled in irritation.

“Ugh! I don‘t mind dressing up but the second part sounds frustrating.” Suzanne said in displeasure. “I

know right. That’s why we need to find a perfect dress as well. So, now come and let’s not waste any

more time.” Patricia said and started to pull her toward a dress shop.

“You aren’t coming?” Suzanne asked Athena who kept standing in her previous place. “Heck, I am not

even coming to that party. Why will I go to that shop? I will look for something for Ace while you shop for

your dress.” Athena said with a small smile. With a nod, they three parted ways.

Athena was looking around a shop for a pair of shoes for Ace. As she didn’t have any money, she had to

take it from Nathan. But with a promise of returning it back to him as soon as possible. She let out a sigh

thinking how she is going to pay him back She doesn’t have a job or doesn’t know where to find any.

Dominic is definitely not going to pay her and she is never in hell going to take money from him. So, she

needs to think of ways to earn money to take care of herself. But what will she do?

She let out a sigh and looked around. She thought of looking for a job in any of these shops as a seller or

as a waitress in any of those cafés.

Suddenly she stopped moving after feeling a constant stare at her back. It wasn’t anything good. She

frowned and looked around to look for the source of that stare. But the next moment she heard a familiar

voice, a voice she hadn’t heard for almost three years. And she knew who was causing the discomfort.

“Long time no see, my dearest daughter.” She turned around to look at the man standing in front of her.

The man was in his late fifties. H e had grey hair. The sick smirk on his face made him look ugly and

dangerous along with the big scar on the left side of his face. Her face filled with fury and unexplainable

anger. She was having a hard time controlling her wolf. She wanted to come out and rip the head away

from his neck. She gritted her teeth as she glared at him. “What the hell are you

doing here?” She snapped. But that didn‘t have any effect on that man. He let out a humourless chuckle

as he took a step toward her. “That’s not how you treat your father, Athena. Did you forget all your

manners which I taught you?” He asked in a taunting tone, increasing her temper some more. “Don’t you

feel ashamed of calling yourself a father? And what did you just say about teaching?! The most you

taught me is how to st–…!” She couldn’t complete her sentence as she felt disgusted to even complete it.

“Why did you stop? Complete it. Are you disgusted by what fed you for years? And why are you showing

me this attitude, huh? Did you forget your identity? Let me remind you. You are a thief!” He exclaimed

with a sudden fury in his eyes as well. “Shut up! Shut up before I rip your head off. And get lost. I don’t

want to see you in front of m e.” She glared at him as the colour of her eyes kept changing. He smirked

seeing the anger in her.

“Oh sure, I don’t have time now anyway. But we will meet again. Soon. Because I know you will

need me and I have a good mission for you as well.” He said with a smirk as he turned around t o leave

after wearing the hoodie to hide his face.

“Don’t you dare to come in front of me ever again if you don’t want to die! And I will not be doing any

mission for you! Did you hear me?!” She shouted in anger and fury as her bad past started to flash in

front of her eyes, making her restless.

“We will see, daughter. We will see.”
